18 May: Roy Alexander talks to Royal Society of Chemistry about the project at Ness Gardens on the Wirral at 11.30am.

23-29 May: Garry Charnock invited to talk about the project at the Telluride Mountain Film Festival in Colorado, USA.

December 2016 activities

22 December 2016: Melle Garschagen from Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad visits the village to report on the project's progress.

17 December 2016: Duncan and Ellen King (photo) visit the village from Mono Lake Climate Action Group in California, USA.

12 December 2016: Garry is invited to Washington DC, USA, by Foreign Policy to celebrate his nomination as one of the '100 Global Thinkers of 2016'.

3 December 2016: Bill Chayor and Christopher Robson from Croft community near Darlington, visit the village and chat to Garry & Alex and members and customers of the community shop.

November 2016

November 15: Garry joins Mark Lynas and others in a panel debate entitled, "This house believes that biodiversity loss will not be stemmed by the actions of ordinary people" organised by the Zoological Scoiety of London (ZSL). Huxley Lecture Theatre, Regents Park, London. 18.00-19.45.

October 2016

26 October 2016: Alex and Garry present our decade of activity to the Indian Climate Parilaiment Group at Grange Wellington Hotel, 71 Vincent Square, London, SW1P 2P. This is an international cross-party network of legislators, working to promote renewable energy as the key strategy to mitigate climate change. Climate Parliament has been supporting MPs in their work on renewable energy for over six years and has established a network of legislators from across Asia, Africa and Europe. The project is funded by the British High Commission in India.

15 October 2016: Projects members attend the CWaC second annual Community Energy Conference and Showcase Ashton Hayes Primary School. Kevin Frea is the Key Note Speaker.followed by workshops from SPEN and others.

13 October: Ashton Hayes Community Energy Company board meeting. 7.30pm

14 September 2016: Patrick SIsson of Curbed Magzine interviews us on Skype: Here is his article.

8 September 2016: Lars Bevanger did a story on our project for Deutsche Welle Radiofor back in 2007. Today he did an update on our decade of activity.

7 September 2016: Tristan de Bourbon Parme arrives. He is a UK correspondent living in London for the french dailies La Croix and L'Opinion, the swiss daily La Tribune de Geneve and the belgian daily La Libre Belgique.

7 September 2016: CNN sends a film crew to record on our actions. Left: Garry and Anne (left) talk to members of the crew Here is the clip.

 

 

 

2 September 2016: ITV Granada TV films the project work along with Max (centre) and Jeremy (left) from 'Changing Tomorrow' - they are producing a series of films about community activity across the UK. Alex is on the right.
