News from Ashton Hayes Sports and Recreation Association (ASHRA)

In Summer 2011, The Ashton Hayes Sports and Recreation Association (ASHRA) provided the village with a fabulous new play area and receation field. Their work has been supported by the GCN project which provided around £300,000 in funding (via DECC) to construct a low carbon sports pavilion complete with solar PV and community electric vehicle (A Nissan Leaf). Our aim is to use these facilities to provide multi use recreation for all and demonstrate sustainable practices to others.

Grand opening draws large support - photos
